This South Florida company played a major role in tracking Monday’s solar eclipse

Monday’s eclipse marked the first time in almost a century in which the moon obscured the sun, veiling millions of American’s workdays with moments of darkness.

In recording the historical event, South Florida company Heico Corp. played a major role.

A subsidiary of the Hollywood-based airplane-parts maker called IRCameras LLC produced and supplied a specially designed infrared-imaging camera used to measure the eclipse.
