Uber CEO takes indefinite leave of absence as workplace report is released

Uber co-founder and CEO Travis Kalanick is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the embattled ride-hailing company, which is dealing Tuesday with the recommendations of an investigation into its workplace culture.

Kalanick told Uber staff about his decision in a company-wide memo. He cited his mother’s recent death and said he needs time to reflect on himself and work on building Uber’s leadership.
